TCK’s Puppet Pals Program is a 4-week interactive virtual workshop.  This workshop is designed to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation, and encourage positive thinking, goal setting, positive friendship skills, communication skills and empathy.

Registrants will receive by mail a puppet-making kit (Puppet Pal Box), including all of the materials necessary for children to create their very own puppet pal.

Over four weeks, TCK will facilitate fun conversations and meaningful activities that help children work through their emotions and to imbue their puppet pal with their dreams and goals.

Week 1:

  • Introductions - the children, The Concerned Kids, the facilitator(s), TCK puppets, and the program.

  • Live reading of The Velveteen Rabbit

Week 2:

  • Activities that affirm the validity of all emotions and how to navigate (specifically touching on loneliness, boredom, isolation and frustration)

  • Sewing workshop begins

Week 3:

  • Life dreaming and goal setting workshop

  • Puppet pal heart creation activity

  • Finish sewing puppet

Week 4:

  • Storytelling workshop

  • Puppet pal ‘introductions’

  • Program close and next steps

The Puppet Pal Box contains all of the materials needed to create the puppets and participate in the activities. There will also be an activity booklet to download.
