Our Healthy Kids Program explores the different ways in which we can help our bodies to grow up healthy and strong. In an age of fast food and online entertainment, it can be easy to forget the importance of regular activity and healthy eating. This program was designed to get kids excited about eating right and staying active at an early age, because practicing healthy habits as a kid helps you become a healthy adult!
INTERMEDIATE (GRADES 2 – 5)

- “Don’t Just Sit There, Do Something!”- Two friends are getting ready for a sleepover, but soon discover that they have very different ideas about how to spend the evening. One has prepared for a ‘couch potato’ night with movies and junk food, while the other has planned an intensive work out based on her doctor’s suggestion that she get 60 minutes of exercise each day. The two friends compromise on a fun outdoor activity, and learn that spending an hour each day being active isn’t so hard after all!
- “Fruit Stand” – Instead of a typical bake sale, two brothers set up a fruit and veggie stand at school to raise money for a class field trip. After a disappointing business launch, they develop a plan to deliver their produce to various school groups, and quickly sell out all of their stock! The brothers discuss the nutritional value of their high-demand produce, and brainstorm some creative ways to incorporate more fruits and veggies into their family dinners. They discover that eating well can be as delicious as it is nutritious!
